lol the Rays are in unadulterated tank
They're tanking so hard, they should be renamed the Tampa Bay Third Army.
My favorite thing about them is just that they just named something about "tanks."
I feel like this has to be an obvious troll at this point, or a cry for help.
MLB should be concerned. More than half the teams are [expletive] and there's not much reason to pay attention to an incredibly long and boring regular season.
Cardinals if committed to this depth over stars thing could sign Moose or Neil Walker and have a 2-3 win player everywhere on the infield, and they’d be able to give a guy off every 5th day without having to play Greg Garcia.
MLB Network Radio was discussing the possibility of Moustakas to the Braves a few days ago. I don't recall who was talking, but the consensus was that Braves are planning on going hard after Donaldson next offseason, and made it sound like that's where he's going, so they wouldn't have interest in Moustakas.

I mean, isn't around half of the league being mediocre teams what one would expect statistically?
Lots of other leagues in other sports survive with much crummier competitive situations than we have in the MLB.
I guess what the MLB should be worried about is just how openly crappy some teams are. On the other hand, I guess the transparency is kind of nice.
What should happen is the addition of a salary floor, but that'll never ever ever pass.

It's a bad product. Middling teams, like last year's Cardinals, are terrible to watch but are propped up by tanking. I know because I watched them. Can't field. Can't run the bases. Other leagues may have crummier situations. They don't play 2,400 games.
Rays are pulling up short to rebuilding, per their GM. Says Zona was just too heavy on Souza as a backup to losing JD to pass up their offer. Not trading Archer, Colome, or Kier...

MLB needs a hard salary cap like the NFL has. Then the top talent will be more spread out. The current system incentivizes tanking for smaller market teams.
Miami selling Stanton to the Yankees is everything that is wrong with baseball.

Mmhmm...no smoke around those guys, nope, not at all...
