Re: Random musings
I about to change internet and cable providers to save $50.00 per month.
My wife doesn't want to deal with the hassle, so she is fine with paying more for less service, just so she does not have to deal with change.
I don't care, $50 per month is a lot when living on one income and when you have 4 kids. So they are coming Sat to install the new service.
Amazing a company would lose a customer over $50.00

$50 a month adds up pretty quickly. I'd deal with the hassle of switching for that.wart57 wrote:I about to change internet and cable providers to save $50.00 per month.

Well, the offer was accepted and we had the inspection today. Lots of minor things as I expected... and it also needs a new sewer line. I'm really glad I paid for that additional inspection. Got an estimate it would be about $7000-$8000 of work. It sounds like they can run the new pipe through the old one instead of having to dig up the yard though, which is a plus.
I feel I'm in a strong position to ask the seller to fix it. My wife and I offered to pay list price and closing, the sewer line will now go on the seller's disclosure sheet, the couple selling the house has already moved elsewhere but is still paying the mortgage on the home right now.
Update number three: we are back to the drawing board. After putting the sewer line in our renegotiations, sellers have five days to respond. This is day five. Heard from our agent today that the sellers were waiting on their plumbers report to be ready by tomorrow. We agreed to extend the negotiating window by a day, but they have yet to sign it. If they don't by midnight, they (or we) can cancel the contract. Our agent believes they may have received an offer from someone willing to take the house as is.
Barring a miracle in the next two hours, likely they're canceling the deal. On one hand, relieved to learn about a $7000 problem upfront. On another, mad that I feel we got played.

I love watching my daughter run. I came to the school for some school board stuff and she was at recess running races against the other kids in the class. She starts ten yards behind the others and runs by the second fastest like they are standing still. She does it so effortlessly it amazes me.

My daughter (3yo) asked me this morning if people die. Welp, here we go.
