Re: Random musings
Been watching the live feed of the Insight Probe landing on Mars and when they announced "Touchdown, InSight has landed on Mars," my first thought was duh. Of course it touched down on Mars, the real question is whether it is still functional or destroyed! And of course the guy just said that they still aren't sure if the vehicle was damaged or not. I'm thinking the celebrations might have been a bit premature if they don't even know that it's damaged yet. We certainly know how to hit Mars with stuff by now. Actually landing the probes safely is still a bit different.

Well we have had three snows and a full on blizzard I guess it's time to give up the dream and take the drag radials off my CTS-V and put the winter tires on. I hate the midwest.

Just got home from playing tour guide for my boss and a co-worker. It was a really fun night. They are becoming big fans of St Louis. As much as some of us complain about the corporate BPV, they loved being able to have dinner there and then watch the first half of the football game. The stadium really impressed them. They couldn't believe that you can just walk up to the outfield gate and see right onto the field with the entire place lit up. Can't do that at Fenway. They were also really impressed with how well BPV fits in.
The arch really blew their minds. They had only seen it on TV and didn't know you can actually go up to the top. I have to admit, I hadn't been under the arch in a decade and I was impressed again.
It was a really fun evening.

It’s not just the Midwest. I’ve had to fire up the snowblower 3 times already up here (NH). And that was after a month of rain. It’s been even worse back in Colorado.IMADreamer wrote:Well we have had three snows and a full on blizzard I guess it's time to give up the dream and take the drag radials off my CTS-V and put the winter tires on. Ready for spring and winter doesn’t even start for another 3 weeks.

I am really not looking forward to winter especially with the Blues stinking so far this year and being outside of the stadium last night looking in and missing Cardinal baseball. Can we just skip winter this year?Radbird wrote:It’s not just the Midwest. I’ve had to fire up the snowblower 3 times already up here (NH). And that was after a month of rain. Re: Random musings
This morning I was trying to explain elections and voting to my almost four year old. It's how we, the people in our city/state/country, get to choose our leaders. I explained a leader is the person who decides things and sets an example, like the line leader at her preschool. She asked if people in other countries get to vote, and I said that in some places, people don't vote, but they are chosen by other people in charge - like the line leader is at her school.
So today I accidentally taught my 3 year old daughter that her school is basically a dictatorship. Come to think of it, that is a valuable life lesson to learn now.
In my next random musing, I will share how I accidentally taught her the f word, which she now loves saying.
