Seems fair to say though I’m no statistician that if teams get to a 2-2 series tie, they’re likely pretty evenly matched and each game is more or less a 50/50 toss up.Popeye_Card wrote:I have this gut feel that teams that win game 6 end up winning game 7 too. Maybe that's because I've seen it happen so many times with the Cardinals. Thankfully that's not really the case in the Stanley Cup playoffs over the years.
For teams in Boston's situation (won game 6, playing game 7 at home) they win game 7 only 47.8% of the time overall, only 42% of the time at home.
And as bad as Sunday felt, teams that win game 5 to set up a clinching game at home for game 6 only win that game 52% of the time. They win 81% of the series overall though.

A couple things worry me more than any edge Boston may/may not have gained by winning game 6 and those are Rask being hot as a pistol and tank having 1 point over the last four games.

The TSS line really needs to step it up.
Blais hasn’t done much lately. With Barbashev and Thomas both back, I’d expect him to sit.
TSS
Perron-RoR-Sanford
Maroon-Bozak-Thomas
Barbashev-Sundqvist-Steen

Agree about Blais likely sitting.
I can't think about anything other than this game and I need to stop. So, I'll just say this and stfu.
Yes, the TSS line is awol. Credit somewhat to McAvoy and Chara. Still, need some points out of them. 24 combined goals b/w Schwartz and Tank going into game 4 and nothing the last 2 games.
Rask being en fuego and Boston's offensive explosiveness makes me lean towards them winning the game. But, the Blues have done a great job at times and especially on the road. The more hostile the crowd, the more I think it helps them, and tomorrow is going to be....hostile. Still, talent wins out in the end and Boston/Rask imo have the edge.
That said, Binnington has been getting peppered lately and outside the 3rd period in game 6 where he gave up that bouncer and then a couple goals he had no shot on, he's been pretty solid as well.
Which brings me to this, the Blues have to score first and play their game. Get the lead, get the pucks in and establish their forecheck. It's game 7, they'll be allowed to play and be physical. That's their best chance, imo. They're not going to win a shootout at 6-5 or anything close. It's got to be a 2-1, possibly 2-2 game that goes to OT if they want to have a shot. I don't see them getting more than 3 goals regardless of how the game plays out. And, honestly, I feel like it's going to take some fortunate bounces and herculean efforts just to get to 3....so don't give up 3.
And go beat them the [expletive] up.
That's the thoughts of a guy that knows nothing. My prediction is 4-1 Bruins.

We basically need to win just like we did in game 5. Get one early, get a lucky goal, hold on for dear life and hope Binnington can shut them down. It's a lot to ask, your 4-1 Bruins score seems about right to me.AWvsCBsteeeerike3 wrote: Which brings me to this, the Blues have to score first and play their game. Alternatively, they can play like they did in games 4 and 6, and hope they get better puck luck like they did in 4.
Bruins may be feeling like they have this in the bag now. Veteran team who’s been there, playing at hime with momentum and a hot goalie. Blues need to score quick and flip the script. If the Bruins score a couple in the first, I feel like the Blues might just collapse.

I haven't hardly consumed any hockey content since Sunday. I'm nervous and think Boston has the edge. That said, they aren't far and away better than us. Also, anything can happen in one game. After game 5 Binner was "on fire" and then we lost game 6 5-1. ANYTHING can happen in one game.
Find a way Blues. Find a damn way.
I'm expecting a loss, but you never know.

Exactly. I don't care how they do it either. Try not to get kicked out of the game but who cares if you have to miss a game or two at the beginning of the next regular season? Normally I am against dirty play but [expletive] it tonight. I want the Cup more than the Blues winning any awards for sportsmanship right now.AWvsCBsteeeerike3 wrote:And go beat them the [expletive] up.
