Until the stands in St Louis start resembling the stands in Miami...nothing will change. With attendance topping 3 million + every year the the big TV contracts, I really don't think the DeWitts feel any pressure to even attempt to build a winning ball club.

I feel like every bit of research I've read indicates that bunting is almost always a sub-optimal strategy (an out being far more valuable than a base, for example). So, do the Cardinals know something that sabermetrics doesn't? Or is this a complete denial of stats and an attempt to get back to some 80s ideal of the fast-moving offence?
