I was thinking the same thing, but who's gonna hit there? Also, how can you only have 1 LHB (non catcher) on the bench with expanded rosters?

Tough loss.

Could have gone either way.

Had some opportunities. Couldn’t get the big hit.

When you're down a run in the 9th with power on the bench, you just gotta stick with a guy like Tim Edmonds.

I don't mean this glibly, but pretty much anybody. Bader is something like a 700 OPS hitter against RHPs, and anyone with a decent slider (which protect-a-lead relievers generally have) will humiliate him. I know it's not going to make him happy getting pulled for another RHB, but when you strike out 30% of the time against RHPs with pretty meh numbers when when you do make contact, then your ego needs to face reality.

That's the Cardinals offense I've missed seeing for a while. Getting shut down by a bum who was 0-7 with an ERA around 8.

Agree with both of you. There should be a better option with expanded rosters, but no one that stands out.

Maybe Wieters if he is healthy enough (not sure that he is).
