Rewatched National Lampoon's California Vacation over the weekend. Some of it is still funny, but overall it really does not hold up well.

Re: movies
I don't know why, but I watched "Straw Dogs" last night. Other than a very attractive Kate Bosworth, it was a bad movie with some really dumb parts. Just logic-defying stupidity. I really want that 110 minutes back.

Watched "Dark Waters" this week and while I was aware of Dupont and Tephlon (and just how bad it is) it was still quite eye opening on just how disgusting corporations and government are here in the U.S.

Re: movies
Checking in with another low-rent movie review!
"Beer League"
Main stars are Artie Lange (Howard Stern Show) and Ralph Macchio (Karate Kid). (Did I mention it was low-rent?) Released in 2006, it was predictably raunchy and vulgar, but any viewer would go in knowing that once they saw the name "Artie Lange" as the headliner.
It was an average movie, but there was one very pleasant surprise: During the credits, they roll some footage of Lange taking grounders at 1B and making throws to 2B. He can really pick it, and he looks to have a decent arm!
One more fun fact: When looking at the actors' names during the credits, the first 7-8 actors' last names all end in vowels. It felt authentically New Jersey, which is both the setting of the movie and the predominant accent used in the movie.

Re: movies
I watched Midsommar on Amazon last night and I thought it was pretty dope. It's a horror movie but with a lot craft and critical accolades. In that sense it reminded me of The Witch and Get Out. I wouldn't say its as good as either of those films, but it's pretty close. That's high praise.
