About to finish Game of Thrones. About 3 episodes left. It's good, but nothing more than that. Good not great. People were outraged about the finale but since I am not as into it as most, I have a feeling I will be fine with the ending, regardless of what happens.

Trying to figure out what to watch next. The Americans and Ozark are two that come to mind. I have also seen (and loved) Breaking Bad so maybe Better Call Saul is a candidate as well. Also considering rewatching The Walking Dead (there is no time like the present for that one).

i finally gave in to the hype and watched Tiger King. Man, what a wild ride.

I couldnt decide if this was real or fake. It's just all so wild and unbelievable.

Also great tidbits posted upthread.

Anyone else watching The Plot Against America? It's good! And terrifying. Hits a little close to home over here.

I have and yes; very well done (as most HBO offerings tend to be)

One thing that bugs me though...when they’re at places out and about, they get looks from strangers/people they don’t know. How is that? Jews don’t look any different than any of these other Caucasian people, so how do they know they’re Jewish just by looking at them? Like the main character. If you asked me what he is, I’d say Italian. I’m Italian and he looks like a bunch of my relatives. Plus us Italians/Jews seem to have the same stereotypes such as dark hair/bigger noses/etc

I’d never be able to tell someone is Jewish just by looking at them, but every stranger in this show/people who’ve never seen them/know them, know exactly that they’re Jewish?

(And obv the rabbi, John Turturro, is very much Italian...now he’s a prominent character being someone close to the president so people know he’s “Jewish” but they main character/anonymous people? How do that know?)

they don't know. It's to accentuate the mood - paranoia you feel when things are off, or you feel targeted. Everybody is looking at you then.

We get a small whiff of that when going out in public now-social distancing etc.

If it was just a look, then I’d get it...the show runners setting the mood etc as we the viewers know they’re Jewish

But these strangers actually say things to them showing they know they’re Jewish; like when they were looking for the house in the first episode
