Re: The Official GRB Chess Thread
I used to play chess with friends on my phone constantly with one friend. We're talking 400+ games over years. My record against him is 350 wins, 74 losses, and 15 draws and for some reason, can't imagine why, he got tired of playing me.
My username is dallen so if anyone wants a game, hit me up.

It could be that that he is just really, really bad and I'm just less bad than him.

I play occasionally on there, too. I go through periods where I play a lot, and then not at all for months at a time. Been playing more during the pandemic. My username is jdweiss if anyone wants to play.

sent a friend request. If there are numbers behind jdweiss or dallen, let me know and I'll resend the requests. you'll know it came from me because, obviously, you'll be one of the few people on chess.com that understand what awvscb referes to.

Nice. I'll try and figure out how to request a game. Do you prefer 1, 3, 5, 14 day timeframes? And, I can try to figure out how to make it unrated since you're so much higher than I am as well if you want?

i wont be playing but am curious on how it plays...do you make a move, then just wait until you get an alert that your opponent has moved? or does the match have to happen in certain amount of time?

Re: The Official GRB Chess Thread
There are different times for games.
I think the fastest game gives each player 1 minute on the clock and the clock starts as soon as your opponent makes a move and doesn't reset....so, yeah, you better have the game open on your phone/computer if you're doing that. Player A makes a move and however long it takes is deducted from the 1 minute mark (say 1 second, Player A now has 59 seconds). The longest game is 14 days and the clock resets after each move. So, Player A makes a move and will have 14 days to make his/her next move after Player B makes their move, and they will always have 14 days to do so.

Re: The Official GRB Chess Thread
I can't see any friend request but I could just not know where to look.
The alert tells you it's your turn. I've never played a timed match. I like to ignore it when busy and then pick it up when I can.
