I remember Cormier's rookie year quite well...gone too soon. RIP.

My friend and I nicknamed him "The Rheal Thing." It...didn't take off. That's way too young to go.

Cormier ended up having a nice career. I certainly remember him back in the day. Not exactly our glory years.

Went to spring training in 2010 with my dad. We got seated directly next to Dave McKay and his wife at dinner one night. We had our cards gear on so he chatted us up. Nicest guy in the world. It was the highlight of our trip.

I hope he's ok!!!

I'll 2nd the kind words about McKay. We were on the same flight once, the morning after the 2011 championship rally. I went over and introduced myself in the gate area before the flight, and I'm not one to bother too many famous people. He was very kind, and we talked for 3-5 minutes. We later exchanged waves while on the flight.

McGwire was on the same flight with his 2 younger boys. He tried to keep a lot profile, but when you're that big and sitting in row 2, it's kind of hard to do.

Angels released OF Jon Jay.

The Angels would have had to pay Jay a $100,000 retention bonus Saturday, which is why they made the move now. Jay is just 2-for-29 at the plate this spring and the 36-year-old hasn't hit much at all for a few years.
