A teammate did a very similar thing to the guy hitting the tree tracking the football a few years ago at softball. He was tracking a fly ball and going full speed. Never looked where he was going. The field was set up completely different because of some wet spots where home plate would normally be and that brought a smaller three into play out in left center. He ran full speed into that thing but thankfully it was a coniferous tree with nice soft branches down low that softened the blow. He completely disappeared in that tree before coming out laughing. Would have caught the ball too if it wasn't for that dang tree. Then he had to go back into the tree and find it (it ended up being a ground rule double). Good old Tower Grove Park.

I was running on a trail yesterday and looked down just in time to see I was about to step on a big ol' bullfrog. So I sidestepped just in time. But in the process, ran head first into a tree. Didn't get knocked out, but did get knocked in the noggin pretty good.

That's the thanks I get for protecting nature.
Last night I was drinking some mighty fine wine with a good friend of mine. Jeremiah told me this same story but from a completely different perspective, but I didn't understand a single word he said until just now.
I've never been to Spain, but I kinda like what you did there Leroy.
They say the ladies are insane there.

Celebrating two years of marriage this weekend. I'm pretty sure I'm the happiest I've ever been despite having some anxiety issues. My life is pretty amazing.

I saw this really [expletive] -ed up child this morning. Upon double-take I realized, with relief, that it was a dog in a raincoat. Your dog doesn't need a [expletive] -ing raincoat. And if your dog needs a stroller, we need to breed that dog back into respectability. It's progenitor was a wolf for [expletive] 's sake.

Who won: humans or wolves? We tamed vicious preadators, which is very impressive. But now they ride in buggies and we scoop up their [expletive] right behind them.

I think the dogs won. I think we will find that dogs bred US to do everything for them so they could sit around and lick their balls all day. The joke's on us!

It was a greyhound so I saw these weird, thin, long, bare flesh-toned legs that didn't quite add up without some tragic deformity. Thank god it was a greyhound.

Dogs can have whatever they want.
