Just a random rant. This has been the harvest from hell. Our combine has been down 6 days with breakdowns and then waiting for parts. It rained for a week solid, so we lost about 10 days there. Then it rained last night, today, and is supposed to late next week. We are not done with corn yet, and still have 1200 acres of beans to go. It seems really unlikely we will get any wheat planted for next year since we would have to get the beans off first. Seems like the earliest we could be planting wheat is two weeks, which is pretty late. I'm exhausted, anxious, and depressed as hell.

We celebrated mom's 90th birthday last weekend, which is great. It got me to thinking, if she lives as long as her dad did, she still has another 16 years to go. Really struck me as how crazy that is.

That's amazing. How is her quality of life, if I may ask?

My friend from Atlanta and I were talking about the Tomahawk Chop, the team name, etc. And he proposed that they should change the team name to the Hammerin' Hanks, after Aaron of course. And then the Tomahawk Chop could simply become the Hammer. Same motion and everything. But then we needed to find a new song to Hammer to. Nothing says Atlanta like Outkast. I propose that the new official Hammering song should be Bombs Over Baghdad, which would greatly improve everyone's upper body strength. And it would be hilarious to see 40,000 white suburbanites try to do the hammer motion to a song with like 800 beats per minute.

Unfortunately that franchise does whatever they can to avoid black fans and black culture.

Sure, she's fine. She still mows her own lawn and stuff like that. She really didn't think she'd make it past 60 because she had a lung removed, but her super lung has kept her going since. She was thinking about moving into a little apartment, but decided not to because she still likes taking care of flowers all summer.

Man, that's incredible! I really kind of fear being that old and not being able to take care of myself.

Yeah, I know. Like I said, grandpa died at 106 and he was still mentally sharp and got around with a walker. Really kinda incredible.
