By the way, let’s not gloss over the fact that yepez had no idea where that home run was. If it didn’t get out, there’s a good chance he drops it again.
That is why when we need to send someone down when Tyler comes back, I want it to be Yepez. He can't play outfield, and can only play 1st in the infield (which we already have in Albert.)

He can only play 1B/3B/DH.

It's the TON injury and Bader rest day causing this.

I don't get this. He's 122 wRC+. The bat is better than so many starters.

Yepez is better than Albert by a mile.

Noot, better than the stats. Like I said.
To be fair, that pitch was awful.
To be fair, the good players on this team swing at awful stuff for Ks too.

Nootbaar's minor league wOBA is good.
I know, I'm just saying isolated at bats don't really tell the story. Him hitting a HR on a terrible pitch isn't vindication of him being better than his stats. Do I think he's better than a 35 wRC+? Sure. Do I think he's good enough to be a regular/league average if exposed to MLB pitching on a daily? No, I do not. I think he'd be quite awful

Him having a high wOBA in 35 games at AAA doesn't mean much.

.391 wOBA in AAA last year. And .344 this year.

Younger than Donovan and similar OBP in minors...plus Noot is way better at defense and baserunning.

No reason not to start Junior off with the entire 5th inning. Hudson windup has deteriorated by the inning today. They tried to get cute by letting him start the 5th.
