I'm completely exhausted with everything
I'm not ever sure how to word the title, but I'm just over it all. I'm tired of standing in line at the grocery store only for someone to inject their politics on me. I'm tired of manufactured outrage about just about any issue you can think of. I'm tired of there being an ad literally everywhere. I'm tired of opinions, like podcasts and debate shows. Why do I give a [expletive] what some guy I'll never meet or know thinks? I'm looking at you Steven A Smith and the Joe Rogans of the world. I'm tired of stupid gullible people who will believe anything. I'm tired of getting screwed by the medical industry, the car industry, the telecoms, the utilities, big oil, big farming, wal mart, hobby lobby, uline, and everyone else. I'm tired of hustle culture and side hustles. I'm tired of cheap junk [expletive] that costs a fortune and doesn't last long at all. I'm looking at you 1 year old refrigerator. I'm really tired of influencers and social media (see opinoins). I'm quite frankly tired of myself.
Maybe it's the MS and depression talking but I'm just so tired of everything. It's like god damn, I just want a break from it all.

I was just telling my wife essentially the same thing. It's been a relentless stretch since 2016. Just relentless. Have no idea where / when it ends.

Sorry guys.
I find it helpful to just ignore everyone.

Try a digital detox (except GRB which is not triggering). I'm serious. It helps. Set a time period (2 weeks, a month, whatever) Turn off news feeds and social media on your phone. Stop listening to podcasts that cover current events and politics for a while. Hold yourself to it just so you know you can. I would say I end up doing this at least a month every year when I get overwhelmed with the nonsense.

Re: I'm completely exhausted with everything
I feel like this a lot as well.
Of course, quite a bit of this is by design. Especially the political/news media rage induction feedback loop. Politician X does some horrendous or sh!tty thing. OUTRAGE!! Another horrendous or sh!tty thing happens. OUTRAGE!! Another thing, more OUTRAGE!!! It's like they've figured out if they keep adding things to outrage us, we can't focus on any one thing and they get away with all their bullsh!t. I JUST WANT SOMEONE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR ATTEMPTING TO OVERTHROW DEMOCRACY. If the kingpins of that aren't held accountable, it will be worse next time, and likely succeed. FVCK.

Same here. Definitely try thrill's advice and just unplug from the news and social media for as long a stretch as you can. Spoiler alert -- you won't miss a damn thing. When you tune back in it'll be the same sound and fury, signifying nothing. The endless production of "content" competing for your attention.
The most valuable thing every human being has is time. We already trade most of our time for money, but at least we get something back that can be converted to food, shelter, pleasure, and so on. I don't know what we get out of giving away so much of our spare attention to the infotainment industrial complex.

Re: I'm completely exhausted with everything
I found this to be true when we took our Prague trip. Only a week, but a week without TV, browsing websites, constantly bombarded with the latest outrage. The US ex-pat folks that we met were for the most part blissfully unaware of the level of minutiae blasted at us on a daily basis. I came home questioning why I watch this crap as much as I do because you’re right, nothing of significance was missed.G. Keenan wrote: ↑February 23 23, 2:04 pmSame here. Re: I'm completely exhausted with everything
I pretty much stopped watching news over five years ago. Makes life much less depressing.
I get the information I need through print/digital media. For whatever reason it seems to have less emotion involved when it is just dead words on a screen.
