Re: General Soccer Thread
I would enjoy if the team from my general area would defeat the team from your general area, a repeat of the same result when these two teams met on the field of play several weeks prior.
I've been thinking we should have a thread for the CITY season, as it's been fun to watch (obviously the record helps with the interest level) even for someone like me who's mostly watched a lot of kids' soccer the past decade or so and is learning the nuances of the professional game. I've been looking forward to Saturday soccer more than Saturday baseball these past few weeks, though the sorry state of the Clark Street contingent may be to blame for that.

I did windup getting the MLS package. It gives my 82 year-old dad and I something to bond over, since we have very little in common. He comes over here every Saturday night now. He carted me around in club leagues so much when I was a kid and knows what's going on in the games. Nachos, pizza, hot wings...
I haven't caught a game live yet, but that's not a huge deal to me. It'll happen. CITY has been a lot of fun to watch. I still don't know much about the opposing teams, but I really don't care. Oh, the 360 people annoy me. I tune into some random game instead of tolerating them. I do wish there were more Sunday games and a couple scattered through the week.

I am coming over to STL in September and STL City are playing LA FC, I fancy watching this game.
I have looked at getting tickets and the cheapest I can find seems to be $98 (£78.26)
That is insane for the MLS (No offence).
I don't think I paid that for an FA Cup Final ticket in 2009
Is this normal and are there other ticket outlets rather that SeatGeek?
I know it's a new team, bust sheesh!

That has been the norm for the whole season, I'm afraid. The area has really taken to the club so unless their performance really really tanks the interest(and therefore secondary market cost) is gonna be sky high. That game is a midweek one and after school starts so mayybe when it gets closer the price might get a bit better, but LAFC is the class of the league too so I wouldn't bank on it.

Now I'm not sure what's worse: the penalty shootout (and there's going to be 65 million of thse in the MLS playoffs this year), or the halfassed, pussyfooted pointless extra time before it.

There's something so hilarious to me about judges in powdered wigs listening to footballers' wives argue about Instagram posts.
So, yeah, I got a little distracted watching EPL today by Rooney v Vardy. I guess it's a stage play now. I'd never heard of it before, and I was a cleaner, better person then.
