Happy for Petro and Barby, winning another cup with Vegas.

Ditto. Wish we still had them both. Letting Petro go and signing Krug instead was a terrible decision from the start. Trading Barby was the right move, but I'm hoping there's a way we can bring him back this summer.

Dunn petro and Faulk would be a nice half of the d corps. What could have been.
Gonna be a rough 2-3 years (at least).

Re: 2023 NHL playoffs/offseason
I heard something on 101 about GMs. They were speaking about Mozeliak but it could apply to Army too. They said most GMs don't last more than a decade in one organization. I would definitely agree that Mo is stale here. But what about Army. He's been pretty stellar for the most part, but the current roster issue is entirely his making. His insistence on not giving Petro the "no movement" clause caused all of this. Is it time for him to take that job in Toronto (as the rumors were speculating recently)?

the job in TOR is filled, but no, I'm good with Army (for now)
with the NHL and having a salary cap, it's tough with the cap not going up for a few years...without COVID, if it had been able to continue to rise, I think we would be ok cap-wise with the D corp.
I am interested in the kyrou and thomas extensions on how will those age...Thomas should be fine, but Jordan needs to learn how to play SOME freaking D

Part of why I think it’s going to be a rough 2-3 years is I think by then the cap will have started to go up again and the $6.5m won’t be as bad on those deals. (Plus lower term by then) you could conceivably move someone or just fit more talent around them.
Kyrou and Thomas will be fine. It’s always an adjustment going from budding Star behind the vets to THE GUY that teams prep for. Just got to let them play through it. They’ll figure it out.
2-3 years to build up the farm a bit and take stock of what you have.

It sounds like the Blues are close on a deal to acquire Kevin Hayes from the Flyers

he's got a large contract left, in terms of what we have left in our cap space, so has to be someone of our D headed backMrCrowesGarden wrote: ↑June 24 23, 3:31 pmIt sounds like the Blues are close on a deal to acquire Kevin Hayes from the Flyers

Re: 2023 NHL playoffs/offseason
sounds like various twitter peeps saying it's involving multiple players
I'm guessing Hayes and Laughton with some salary retained on Hayes, and then possibly a scandella-ish and picks headed to PHI? (love to include krug but don't see him waiving to go to PHI)
