both organizations are kinda like little mosquitos that are flying around you and you keep shooing them off until you finally smack it and kill it

I just happened across this article from June from SI; Hopefully we target AT LEAST 1 of snell and nola, but this could be an option to supplement one of those? We seem to sign players quite often from Japan, but not ones subject to posting. he could be cheaper though as he's 29. Definitely a hell of a lot cheaper than Yamamoto.
https://www.si.com/mlb/cardinals/news/c ... eason-pat3One player who could be an intriguing fit and the Cardinals reportedly recently scouted was Yokohama DeNA BayStars pitcher Shota Imanaga, according to JapanBall's Yakyu Cosmopolitan.
St. Louis was among seven big league clubs who reportedly sent a scout to watch Imanaga pitch. The Cardinals were joined by the Texas Rangers, Philadelphia Phillies, Arizona Diamondbacks, Cincinnati Reds, New York Mets, and Toronto Blue Jays.
Imanaga is 29 years old and has shined for Yokohama in eight professional seasons. The lefty impressed in front of the big league clubs pitching a complete game while allowing just one earned run and striking out 10 batters. Imanaga has a career 2.96 ERA and hasn't pitched to an ERA above 3.00 in a season since 2020. At this point, there's no way for sure to know if Imanaga will be available this offseason, but the fact that seven clubs reportedly sent scouts to watch him play at least makes it seem as if there is a chance.

Those names bring back some memories. '71 Orioles had four 20 game winners (Cuellar, Palmer, McNally and Dobson).Radbird wrote: ↑August 3 23, 7:45 pmI’m all in on the O’s this year. It’s good to see them back in contention. They were my favorite AL team growing up. The Robinsons, Aparicio, Belanger, Blair, Boog, Etchebarren, Davey Johnson, Blefary, Hendricks, Buford, Palmer, McNally, Cuellar, Dobson. Not to mention St. Louis native Earl Weaver at the helm. Just great teams.
We should’ve squared off in the WS at least once back then. Cards won NL pennants in ‘64, ‘67, ‘68. The Orioles won the AL in ‘66, ‘69, ‘70 & ‘71.

When I was growing up and Curt Gowdy and Tony Kubek were announcing the NBC Game of The Week on Saturdays, the Orioles were featured on several Saturdays. There were so many great Orioles teams throughout the seventies.Spider John wrote: ↑August 7 23, 1:02 pmThose names bring back some memories. The poster was very critical of Mozeliak in the past, so it's an "I told you so."

Yeah, he’s one I’ve been watching. His team isn’t settled on posting yet, whereas Yamamoto is definitely being posted.cardsfantx wrote: ↑August 7 23, 11:46 amI just happened across this article from June from SI; Hopefully we target AT LEAST 1 of snell and nola, but this could be an option to supplement one of those? Imanaga will be looking at Senga level deal. Not sure the Cardinals will go that for their second pitching addition.
