I don't actually think Kryou meant it to be taken as such a negative but it was still a bonehead comment.
I think it was due to kyrou being one of the reasons berube was canned, and then basically had a flippant comment when asked about his relationship/about his former coach.
Players like Thomas and Binnington who’ve been playing their ass off/def aren’t a reason berube was fired, still came out and said they need to play better. If he would’ve just came out and said something along the lines of the others, none of this would’ve happened. Even if he didn’t mean it.
He was pretty emotional and crying during the postgame interview so I’m assuming he knows he [expletive] up. I don’t think he meant it in SUCH a bad way, but there’s no positive spin you can make from his comments.
He’s got a lot of maturing to do; on the ice and away from the ice. It’s tough though as he and Thomas are now paid the same as elite players, and Thomas is the only one holding up his end.
If he starts producing and most importantly improves away from the puck, defensively, and harder on the boards, all will be fine.
