Best way to do taxes?

I've been asking why they don't do that for years. Shlubs like me that get all their income from sources that have to report - hell IRS - YOU tell ME what I owe. I'd be happy to have them do it for me and not have the liability for screwing up.

They haven't done it because the TurboTax and H&R Block have spent millions lobbying to prevent it.

Update - looks like this is up to ten states now.

Don't be surprised if it is a complete disaster to use to keep people doing the same old thing.
