Jose Altuve will play left field Friday against the Cardinals.
Altuve will make his first ever start in the outfield after working at the position as a way to create roster flexibility. It’s interesting that the start will come against St. Louis, as one of the reasons Altuve could play left field is if Houston was to trade for Nolan Arenado. Either way, it seems more likely than not that Altuve will carry eligibility at a couple different positions early in the 2025 campaign.
