The 2 pitchers(Lance Lynn being the other) the Cardinals signed for 2024 before the 2025 season is even over with have already retired. That is a total testament to the half ass attempt at signing players that the Cardinals have done in recent years.

Having no context about the game or AB up to that point, it is tough for me to imagine what could have occurred during a 4 pitch walk that Tommy felt the need to demonstrably flip his bat in front of the catcher.
