I enjoyed watching him hit and crossed my fingers whenever he was in the outfield. Good work Jose, enjoy your retirement.

He was a legit great hitter for two years. Wonder what could've been if he hadn't broken in at age 28 (or if the NL had the DH back then)

Oh he was part of the Liberatore trade. We still have Libby.

Cafecito was a fun ballplayer...the team was fun to watch back then too. We could use a player like that on the team.

I liked him and wish him well. He provided some badly needed offense, but I cringed when he played defense.

Unfortunately for him, he came from the standard mold of Cardinals players with really short windows of productive years.

And Yankee fans posted a video of Sonny Gray saying how glad he was to be with the Yankees after he was traded to them, when Sonny dumped on the Yankees after being traded to the Red Sox. You would think that players would know in this day and age everything they say is recorded so they can’t get away with stuff like that.

That tweet is from 2011 when he was 18. I think we can accept that 18 year olds say things especially about sports teams without thinking ahead.

DeJong is a good guy, I think, so I'm happy he gets to continue his MLB career.
