Logan Mailloux has made huge strides over the past two months, but the dude HAS to stop deflecting pucks into our own net. I feel like he's done it 5 times since the Olympic break.

How much of this is just bad luck vs things like incorrect positioning, etc? I honestly don't know.

Some is luck. Some is poor positioning, at least in terms of trying to minimize the options for shots to deflect toward the goal. At least a couple have gone off of his stick/blade, which can be resisting the urge to try to block a shot that close to the goalie - you have to let your goalie track it all the way in.

Great game last night. Starting to get intriguing - 3 points out with 6 games to play, and the Blues would hold the tiebreaker (regulation wins) against any of the other teams fighting for that last spot.

Remaining schedule:
4 home, 2 road

Code: Select all

77	2026-04-07	8:00 PM Colorado Avalanche Makar likely still out
78	2026-04-09	8:00 PM Winnipeg Jets Two teams battling for the last spot
79	2026-04-11	5:00 PM	@	Chicago Blackhawks Hawks playing for nothing but spoiler
80	2026-04-13	8:00 PM Minnesota Wild Wild still jostling with Stars for home ice in their R1 matchup
81	2026-04-14	9:30 PM Pittsburgh Penguins Penguins likely to be resting some players
82	2026-04-16	8:00 PM	@	Utah Mammoth Mammoth likely not playing for anything - resting players
Should also mention Kings and Preds play each other next, so hopefully one of them wins in regulation.

Thomas apparently tired of hearing critics say he's no Mackinnon or McDavid. Pulled out a hattrick on Mackinnnon's home ice!!

I think more than anything, those goals highlighted Snuggy's growth over the past couple months as a playmaker. He's always had the great shot, but now he's able to catch defenses and goalies cheating on his shot and setting up Thomas/Holloway to finish instead. Two months ago, Snuggy probably tries to take the poor-percentage shot on that late third period goal, and hope that Thomas can clean up a rebound as the open trailer. Instead he makes a gorgeous setup pass.

All 3 guys on that line make each other better.

Nope. OT/SO win for the Kings last night. That complicates things as the Blues now sit 5 back of the Kings for the last spot, with only 1 game in hand.

Jets and Sharks also won last night. Blues need to win tonight, which would set up a critical matchup against the Jets on Thursday for which zombie team gets to stay in the playoff hunt.

Wow, Detroit eliminated. Pretty epic collapse. The 1st they traded to us for Faulk will at worst be #16. That’s pretty awesome.

RN the Blues’ own pick would be #6. If they lose out and get lucky they could drop to 4, not likely though. I’d be pretty happy if we could stick at 6 or under.

According to this, Blues currently have the best odds to pick 8th or 9th, with a 6% chance of getting the top pick. Detroit most likely 14th.

Worst case, they have a really good chance at being able to draft the Ruck twins with two top 15 picks.
