I wonder if someone leaked it at Cards Talk because I don't think I was invited either but obviously found out somehow.
There was a thread at Cards Talk. That's how I found out.
I vaguely remember a Leroy thread at Cards Talk being how I found out. Joined at 16 years old. I am now a grown ass man at 35. GRB has always been in the background through my adult life. Thank you all for tolerating me!

Not sure why I thought of this place the other day, but sure enough, I still had the site bookmarked.

Glad to see it still going.

Cheers everyone!

Maybe. I’m not late 20s anymore though. I’m pushing 50 now and turning into a grumpy old man.

It's wild that I'm coming up on 18 years on here. I used to have a desk job in a couple different factories. That job was best described as "long stretches of boredom punctuated by moments of sheer terror". I got really good at my job. So when things were going well, I had lots of time to kill on here. This is why I have so many posts. I was posting at work during the boring times.

But when things were going bad and the factory was disrupted, the job truly sucked. Those "moments of sheer terror" would pop up about 4 to 6 times per year. I'd just have to drop everything, often travel, work 10-12 hours per day, work 7 days per week, etc. In 2020, right before the pandemic hit, I took a "voluntary separation" from that company. They trimmed 5% of their salary workforce that way. I used the money to switch careers and I became a teacher. On average, the daily workload of teaching is higher, but I no longer have the massive peaks and valleys. The steadier workload means less boring times to post. I'll find a way to be here more often if the Cardinals get good again though.

My favorite times on here were on board the Rocky Dennis Express. Hopefully more of those times are in our future.

But yeah thanks to everyone who kept this going all these years. It has been a lot of fun, and has enhanced my experience being a Cardinals fan and a baseball fan.
