The only reason you would trade Walker is for a pedigreed young position player with proven success.... so maybe if it was a trade for himself.

Yes, it’s dumb. They have a $48 million payroll and no inclination to sign consequential free agents. Guys like Walker are their only hope. That’s why they couldn’t give up on him or Gorman.

I think the reason someone might be inclined to trade him is if that person thought this half season is the exception, and he will go back to being replacement level in the near future.

That is still possible. I doubt it at this point, but it could happen. He’s had a pretty rough couple of weeks including some familiar looking bad swings. I think it’s the worst 2 weeks he’s had this season.

He adjusted. The league adjusted back. Ball is in his court. You either fight through slumps, or be Albert Pujols. And there’s only a few of those.
