The videos of the various fan bases doing their things all over the continent, and their reactions to some of the college stadiums in the friendly games leading up to the world cup, has been fun to see. Seems like the tournament overall is going well. Hydration breaks are stupid. I'm sure there have been issues here and there as would be typical at any event. But, hey, at least North American countries didn't disallow alcohol at the last minute like the last host. So...there's that.

Additionally, the USMNT looks completely unlike, and far superior, to anything I've ever seen in my life.

The one bad thing, and it's been covered ad nauseum by people all over the place, is ticket prices. Looking at a potential Spain/USA game in the quarterfinals held in LA, a single ticket starts at $5,000 on any online broker. And, while that would obviously be an insane matchup, it's not like random group stage games are lacking interest. Tickets for the France/Norway game tomorrow are $2K+. Cabo Verde Saudia Arabia is still $600+. And critics thought there would be a lack of interest.... guess not. A coworker was able to sell Argentina/Austria tickets for $2500 each. Crazy.

No you've been holding on to this pain for over a month and you need to let it out.

The 11th was a Cardinals off day and I probably didn't get online much so I missed it. My bad.

Happy birthday to everyone, treat everyday like it's your birthday and life is good.

Now, the soccer team managed to lose last night. No impact to the standings of the group, USA still won, but it sucked.

Also, hope @thrill is doing well. This was always his jam.

It's kinda weird to hear so much about a sporting event in 1982 that doesn't involve Whitey Herzog.

INGERLAND INGERLAND INGERLAND

I was never that big a footie fan when I was actually in the UK, but now I'm 4000 miles away I do love it when England do well at something sport and international.

Taking on Mexico, in Mexico City, is going to be a wild one, I reckon.
