2026 Cardinals hitters splits

Just wondered how this was looking at the end of the season and oddly you can't see these stats next to each other anywhere. So I set up a spreadsheet to compare the two for the top 20 hitters on the team (by PA on the current roster). Just a few things that stood out:

Biggest Gaps:

Burleson - AVG/OBP/SLG/OPS/wOBA

vs R - .316/.395/.548/.942/.404
vs L - .219/.255/.311/.567/.250 - vs lefties he turns into Pedro Pages


Blaze Jordan

vs R - .235/.252/.304/.556/.243
vs L - .268/.316/.507/.823/.351 - hadn't paid this much attention until now but vs lefties he's roughly been Jordan Walker. I think I do remember people calling him righty Burleson before, but that's been said about a few guys.


Saggese

vs R - .269/.296/.355/.651/.286
vs L - .263/.370/.553/.922/.391


Best Overall:

Consistently Pretty Good:

Ivan Herrera

vs R - .240/.334/.373/.707/.317
vs L - .248/.401/.376/.777/.351


Small Sample Sizes:

Bernal in a very small sample is right up there with Burleson's numbers vs righties, and vs lefties he's roughly equivalent to JJ overall.

Baez is kind of the reverse but more extreme in both directions. Best on the team vs lefties, roughly average vs righties.

I meant to say for multiple players or team all at once. I’m sure there’s coding reasons and it’d probably be a whole separate page from the normal stats page. I was thinking either separate columns for each or like on bbref where they show split seasons underneath. Doesn’t appear to exist on either currently.

BA: .228 OPS: .707

Interesting. Same thing last year too. And better numbers in both cases, but only 54 PAs as catcher last year. Wonder if this is a down year for him or last year was an up year.
