I don't have a home phone and I currently use Comcast Internet which uses the Comcast cable lines as its connection. So I figure I would have to find a new internet provider.

Another thing to consider, is Direct TV going to jack up prices once the deal becomes official, or do you think they will offer a good deal to switch for the MLB EI package?
everything you just said is why i will never do this..
it's just not worth it to me.. i love the cards as much as the
next guy.. but screw extra innings.. or whoever decides this

I'm voted in favor of not getting EI. I'm not going to switch to DirectTV. I don't think my housing association will even allow it. I'm not going to get MLB.TV either as others have said. I'm not watching the damn games on my computer. I only watch the Cards when they are on Espn,Fox, or when they play the phils and Cubs. I get their broadcasts.

I do have XM radio, so I will be listening to alot of Cards games this year.

I don't think the Direct TV deal is done yet though?

Quick question while we're on this subject.

St. Louis folks with Direct TV--does FSMW blackout Cards games at all? Do the other FSN affiliates blackout games unless you have the MLB package?

Pretty close, unless Kerry and others can really pull some strings it looks like it's pretty much done.

I voted won't get EI this year, but I'm still considering switching to Direct TV. I have Dish now and I have DSL internet service, so changing wouldn't be a huge deal. Right now, Direct TV is offering 140 channels, unlimited receivers, and three free mos. of HBO and Cinemax for $39.99 a month which is a few dollars less than what I pay for Dish.

On the other hand, I'm in market so I get all the Cards games anyway. It depends upon how motivated I am.

Is FSMW in the 140 channels though? I didn't think I saw it...

Or is that included in the broad "local channels"?

All I can say is to quote The Bible: "Verily, verily, I say unto you- this really sucketh."
