Truth be told, I pull for the Pirates when they aren't playing St. Louis. I'm a sucker for those Rust Belt cities, and I think Pittsburgh deserves a real franchise instead of the one that dimwit Littlefield is running. Look at PNC. I'm not sure that I've ever seen a more gorgeous park.

I'm with everyone else on that 2003 trade though. Absolutely ridiculous...

Littlefield is only part of the problem. His bosses are the big problem.

This is a big year for upper management to prove something to the fans. So far, so good, in the Gonzo-Laroche trade. Say what you will about who got the better of the trade. For once, we dealt from an area where we had strength (our bullpen) and filled a gaping hole in our lineup.

But, it's only one trade, and it doesn't even come close to wiping away the stench that was Randa and Burnitz last year.
