It's a mutual blame if you ask me. I think ownership needs to cash up more money and Walt needs to get more done with that cash. He needs to put more into the outfield. Of course, we could be overreacting because I like our infield. The outfield, I just don't know about it.

I thought our payroll was actually around 90 millionish?

I don't think you are over-reacting. Our outfield is the worst in the NL. We have Jim Edmonds and scrubs playing out there. I know, I know, Duncan isn't a scrub to some of you, but I think we are relying on him too much to pick up the obvious slack in the lineup, especially as much as he strikes out (his strikeouts thus far pale in comparison to Wilson's and it doesn't help that the only ones hitting are Eckstein and Rolen).

Bottom line is - yes - we should spend more money on the OF positions. It isn't like they don't have it.

I'm thinking we are going to have to spend more money on the outfield soon if we continue to play like this.

Walt needs to call up Tampa Bay and make a deal. I don't know what we could give them, but they have OFers and we definitely need them.

Your 3 best hitters go 5-25 and you're going to struggle regardless of who else is out there. As far as OF'ers, Duncan will outproduce almost any avail. FA and there's too much tied into Encarnacion.

STL will likely be middle of the pack on offense and Wells and Looper performed well enough.

I'd be most concerned with the pen as the season wears on.

He was good until the 6th, where he started to tire.

I guess I'll have a broom outside my office door in the morning. It's almost worth calling in sick.
