I'd take Ankiel and Mulder. And place myself in a strategically immobile passing area.

I think a team of Rolen, Dunc, and Waino would be unstoppable.

Now if we're talking street fight, I want Bennett, Reggie (he's here in spirit), and The Deacon.

meh, pure athletes are overrated

give me senior dunc

is there any doubt that he would be the meanest nastiest player of the lot?
you think that mulder would last against him? no way

For my other player
I am thinking i want Walt so that he could work a nice trade of himself for a fringe minor leaguer, one of those Jordon types who give up MVP years to play in the minors.

if that isnt allowed, then give me Rolen

In a fight I'd take Rolen, Albert, and Bennett.

I bet Duncan and Johnson have gotten into their share of fights because they party so hard.

On second thought, if I was in a fight, I'd take Eckstein. He could club people with his 'secret weapon.'

Interesting thread.

Hard to say who the best pure athlete on the Cards is - I'd probably go with Ankiel myself - but in my mind, there's no doubt who the best pure athlete ever for the Cards was - Bob Gibson.

Best pure athlete: Bob Gibson, Bo Jackson, or Deion Sanders?

I'd still go with Gibby, although Gibby vs. Bo would be an interesting matchup - Bo in his prime as a running back, Gibby as the linebacker going after him.

Deion had more flash than substance, and doesn't come close to the first two.

Another oldie but goodie - before he got hurt, Mickey Mantle. And let's not forget Jackie Robinson.
