If Duncan was going to help Weaver, why didn't he do so before he pitched half a season of even worse performance than he put up with the team that released him?
While I may be looking at this with a biased eye, it seems that Weaver's 4.55 ERA during the last 10 starts out of his 15, and a 4.04 ERA when you combine all 6 playoff starts, would show that he showed much improvement over the 6.20+ ERA he posted in Anaheim.

I wasn't including his playoff starts. Fielding independent ERA actually favors his time in Anaheim, 5.35 to 5.75.
