And I think it's really stupid that the Cardinals went out and paid Adam Kennedy $10 million to be the left side of a platoon.

Baseball in person = great. Ballpark, live baseball, etc.

Baseball on radio = great. The descriptions are better and you use the imagination.

Baseball on TV = the reason most people think it's boring. Too much down time on TV. Step offs and throws to first base, endless at-bats. What does a non diehard fan do during the downtime on TV? While listening to radio, you are probably doing something else.

If you are older than 25 and didn't get every game on TV, you grew up with baseball on the radio.

Where were you when I needed you? OK, I wouldn't go quite so far as to call it stupid, although anything that gives Aaron Miles playing time isn't worthy of a Nobel Prize either.

Stupid might have been overdoing it, but it looks like it's going to be a waste of money. If Tony wants to get his precious Aaron Miles in the game because a) Miles has unflattering pictures of La Russa munching down at Outback or b) they are friends like Tony and So are friends, he should have just lobbied to the front office for Ronnie Belliard.

Being in Eastern Iowa and not getting but about 15-20 games on TV a year (it was more up until this year....why did they get rid of games on WB/KSDK

) I grew up listening to the radio and still listen to probably 120 games+ on the radio each year.....you can do other stuff while listening to the game, you get more of a description and can use more of your imagination.....you also get a lot better stories from the announcers (imo) and a lot less talking about whose in the stands that particular day...

I love seeing games on TV....but it doesn't hold a candle to radio....which is why I HATE the 5-10 second delay they have now between radio and TV....I used to love listening to the radio when games were on TV....can't do that anymore

In fact, in Game 7 of the 2004 NLCS I was listening to the radio and heard the Pujols double and the Rolen HR before it happened, and my parents and sister were in the other room watching the game and they were so mad at me when I started cheering because they had no idea what was going on...
