Buehrle is one of my fav pitchers, mostly because he went to my high school...
I'd be very happy to see him in Stl, though he seems like a very similar pitcher to Mark Mulder. And I don't know if we can afford both.
Buehrle throws a NO HITTER.

Their jobs are easier when Carp is taking the mound every fifth day. And the Cards have a better chance at winning when Carp takes the mound every fifth day rather than someone like Randy Kiesler.greenback44 wrote:The problem with Reyes, Wainwright and Looper is they're largely unknowns. However it's not like pitchers have nice, clean learning curves. If it turns out they won't be good enough to win in 2007, then they probably won't be good enough in 2008 either.BW23 wrote:I'd be fine with that rotation as well....maybe with Wells in there instead of Reyes or Mulder. But the group I "ridiculed" was one that had Kiesler and Wells in there with two guys starting in the big leagues for the first time and another in his second full season as a starter.
But you're probably right. No guys struggle when they first start pitching as a starter in the majors and then improve. It's probably never, ever happened.

I ridiculed that group mentioned back on April 4. Since then, the quartet of Wells, Wainwright, Reyes and Kiesler have won a whopping two games.greenback44 wrote:I think it's more interesting to ask who the Cardinals should get rather than ask who they shouldn't get. I'd be fine with a rotation of Carpenter, Mulder, Wainwright, Reyes and Looper, with Hawksworth as the spare tire. But you ridiculed this group when Carpenter got hurt, so I'd expect you'd feel differently.BW23 wrote:I'm not sure why you say that.greenback44 wrote:Not that I disagree, but is there anybody you do want in St. Louis?BW23 wrote:Good, I don't want him here anyway.
Looper's the only exception.
My bad.
