Results for June 1st

Post by New Pagodi »

There were a few roster moves in Memphis. Dennis Dove and John Rodriguez have been activated from the disabled list and were replaced by Matt Ginter and Travis Hanson.

Memphis lost 7-1 to the Tucson Sidewinders. Anthony Reyes gave up 3 hits and 1 run over 7 innings with 4 strikeouts. John Rodriguez was 1 for 3 with a walk and a homer. Box Log

Springfield and Palm Beach were rained out.

Quad Cities won 10-5 against the Clinton LumberKings. Tyler Herron pitched 5 innings with 8 strikeouts and gave up 3 hits and 1 run. Brad Furnish hadn’t given up more than 1 earned run in an appearance since April 26th, but he gave up 4 tonight. Fortunately the offense has ready to make up for his lapse. Brandon Buckman went 2 for 3 with a double. Christian Reyes went 2 for 3 with a homer. Wilmer Alvarado was 2 for 3. Thomas Pham went 1 for 3 with a walk. Box Log

I think you gave the wrong link for the Memphis results.

Sorry! I guess I Quad Cities game so much that I linked to it twice. I've corrected the original post or Fat Strat has the correct links above.

That was a trick from NP. He was checking if anyone is clicking the link. He is a smart a$$

I'm watching the game right now.

1) Ankiel is fun to watch. He crushed a ball (foul, then struck out in his first AB). He's gotten a couple of nice jumps on balls in the gaps. The second he tracked down in left field, fired a strike (I only know it was a strike because you could hear a fan say something about, "he can't throw a strike from the mound but ..") and almost nailed the unsuspecting runner jogging back to first. The announcers then made "crafty lefthander" jokes. Hilarity ensued all over the park apparently.

2) Reyes is throwing fastballs at batter's hands and hitting his spots low and away with the four-seam and change. I dunno what I'm watching here but it seems like a bit of a different guy. Maybe it's just some weird illusion, wishcasting or difference in the level of competition. I wish their was a gun or the video wasn't so grainy, or both, or it wouldn't be so hard to tell what he's throwing. So who knows really.
