Ok, I'm asking for advice
I know a few of you are in my Cards Talk Keeper League. I currently reside in the cellar of the Musial Division. I went from 2nd place regular season last year, to 12th now.
I need RBI's and Avg. Part of me says it's because I have a few kep player's slumping/injured(Atkins/Bonderman/Hughes/Podsednik/Piazza). But, maybe my team just sucks. Take a look.
C-Paulino (Piazza hurt)
1B- Kotchman (just released Steroid boy)
2B- Johnson & Kinsler
SS- Drew
3B- Atkins
OF-Sizemore, Bay, Ibanez, Blake, Lofton
My pitching is stellar, so I won't worry about that. At least it will be stellar once healthy.
I have noone besides Bay that is driving in runs. My Avg. is just piss poor.
I need an Avg.-RBI combo guy. Pujols is off limits. Who should I target> And what do I have to bargain with?
I'd say Johan and Sizemore are my only untouchables.

Pujols isn't off limits, but when you offer me a package with Giambi, he is
You're going to have to deal from strength. In fantasy, most people are drawn to power and RBI. So to get those things, you are going to have a tough time offering other offensive players. You'll probably will have to deal some pitching.

I want Lee. I have Gordon on my bench, so no to Braun, he's taken anyway. Berkman is another guy I wouldn't mind, but is he done?mikechamp wrote:Target Carlos Lee. He's pretty consistent, and in a hitter's park.
Had Ryan Braun been snatched up yet? If it were me, I'd drop Blake for him.
Or you could buy low on Berkman. It's not like you can drop in the standings.

I can't see how Berkman can just all of a sudden be done. He's posted an OPS of .927 or better for the previous 7 seasons. IMO, he's in the same rut as Pujols, Delgado, Tejada, Manny & Wright (until recently), etc.robbotis wrote:I want Lee. I have Gordon on my bench, so no to Braun, he's taken anyway. And like I said, if he spends the entire season in a slump, you chalk it up to bizarre-ness, you don't drop in the standings and you have a decent sleeper for next year.
