Interview thread embarassing?

I try to be as accommodating as possible with everyone's needs (ie revising the thread moving rules) however the interview thread clearly crossed a line. If posters think that kind of behavior (the posts I deleted) is acceptable and are unwilling to change, then yes, perhaps this board isn't for them. I have to draw the line in the sand somewhere and that is it.

just me, but i haven't gotten that impression with this particular thread (if yer refering to this one)...

to me, all this thread has done is go over guidelines that michael and mods would like to follow (with the assistance of the members for clarity)...and some chose not to follow those.

i wont name names, but i got a pm from someone who said "this place sucks now" and gave a link to a new forum...i mean, really? after one "spat"...its over? i think this forum is great and i personally have no intention of leaving.

My only beef was saying how 20 or so posts out of the thousands of total posts was a complete stain on the forum. If there is a stain on the forum, you're looking at him.

I'm sorry if we gave that impression, we do want suggestions. For instance, in the "Baseball Talk has gotten intimidating." thread several times I asked for suggestions. I'm curious, when did you feel like we gave that impression? I want to make sure that doesn't happen again.

I can't give direct link, but there was a thread about Shannon that got moved, then one about Horton that stuck. I don't get the difference. And then for awhile, something that didn't directly involve 'major league baseball' would get moved, and now they are fine.

Maybe intimidating was a poor choice of words. But last night I was thinking about something Cards related, and thought to myself, 'hmm...baseball or social?'. I ended up not posting it all. That's what I was getting at.

I agree, we were moving too many threads and we have toned that down. If you notice there haven't been as many threads moved.

edit - We wouldn't move the Shannon thread anymore.

leroy, you know how much i love ya (as far as internet message boards can go, heh), so dont take this the wrong way....but why do you care, or "think so much" about whether a topic of yours is in social or baseball? i mean, you use your best judgment and if it gets moved, it gets moved...

i guess im "struggling" with trying to understand why posting would cause you so much "deliberation" (i dont know how much time you really spent thinking about it)? and perhaps deliberation is too strong...not trying to figure out yer "emotions"...but since you've ended up not posting something because of a "fear" of getting it moved...i dont get that

I wasn't scared to post it, and I spent about a second thinking about it. It wasn't a big deal, I just like to know where stuff goes. And I guess I do feel a little like I've been taken to the bosses office when something gets moved...it wouldn't bother me if I was told why.

I guess the big thing is I'd like to know where to put things, so moderators don't have to worry about moving it. I'm trying to learn...
