According to sources, the current deal on the table has the 6-foot-11 Garnett heading to Boston and the Celtics dealing away Al Jefferson, Theo Ratliff's hefty expiring contract and Rajon Rondo. There may also be other players and draft picks involved.
I've also heard from someone in Boston that the deal is supposed to be Jefferson, Ratliff, Sebastian Telfair, and Gerald Green.
In either deal, Minnesota bends over for Boston. Taking Ratliff is basically a favor which is done to make the salaries work out, and neither Telfair nor Rondo are significant.

What made Garnett change his mind? The Celtics wont be a championship team for atleast the next 3 years. They have good young players, but it's gonna take some time before they get good enough to compete for a title, and Garnett is what, 32?
I was all for the Wolves trading KG - it is time to rebuild and his contract is too big. but, boy are they getting spanked in this deal. It's basically KG for Jefferson and a draft pick - and likely a top three draft pick in 2008 since they will suck so bad this year. McHale is such an awful GM.

They got Ray Allen and got rid of Wally at the same time. I think that helped KG change his mind.

Exactly. Pierce, Allen, and Garnett alone should make the Celtics contenders in the East.

Me, you, MrCrowesGarden, Gashouse, and Magneto would be contenders in the East.
