A New Forum Type

Post by TheoSqua »

I'd like to suggest a sub-forum for baseball that would be for articles and chats.

I really enjoy reading baseball articles, and i've found a lot of gems from GRB. I'd be nice if we had a spot dedicated to different articles that people find and can link to so that the rest of us can enjoy them. Some sports sites like yahoo used to do a really good job of organizing multiple sites worth of articles, but they no longer do that. So I find myself using blogs/forums more often to find articles that I don't normally read. I think it would be an addition to the rest of the fourm.

perhaps this could also be the place where some of the baseball related threads that get pushed to social could end up.

I think it's a good idea however I'm worried I might get sued because of copyright laws. Technically it's against the GRB guidelines to post complete articles:
Copyrighted Material - Please respect all copyrighted material. Do not quote them in their entirety. Instead, post a link and quote the relevant information.

It's better to only post portions of an article you wish to discuss.

Now you all know why I only post the NL Central comments.... and the occasional Q&A that I think might interest people.

But this thread sparked a thought in my mind: A sub-forum for Game Day Threads (GDTs). That way, we have a nice, concise, running archive of every game.

(I may have stolen this idea from SOSH when I went there a couple years ago, but who cares.)

Quite honestly, just a forum for links would be fine by me. I don't mind if the articles are quoted or not, just a place where we can all link to articles that we've read and thought others would enjoy. I don't see why it would matter wether or not they are quoted except for those who have a firewall to get around.
