Football Trade Offer

Alright guys, this is my first year at fantasy football and I'm trying to upgrade at RB by dealing from some WR depth.
RB - Westbrook, Marshawn Lynch, Carnell Williams, tatum bell
WR - TJ Alphabet, Larry Fitz, Devery Henderson, Isaac Bruce, Calvin Johnson

This guy offered me this:
(i give) Peyton, Westbrook, Calvin Johnson, Jeremy Shockey
(i get) Vince Young, Steven Jackson, Todd Heap and Lee Evans.

I guess all in all it evens out a little bit, but for some reason I'm just really nervous about Vince Young's potential fantasy numbers. Jackson is better than Westbrook, but is it worth giving up Peyton in the deal?

I'm pretty sure I want to decline this, I want to upgrade from Lynch, Williams, Bell and trading Westbrook doesn't make my RB's any better.

I would not do that deal.

If Jackson goes down, you're screwed. I think you can mix and match what you've got and get decent production from your RB's. If you give up Manning, it's going to be a lot tougher to scramble for QB points. Vince Young is virtually useless as a fantasy QB. I think Johnson may be a big point producer as well.

Additionally, if Lynch can play all year close to how he did yesterday, he'll be a solid #2 back. Even assuming that he'll have down weeks, he'll be good for mixing and matching.

Don't do the trade, but its not a horrible offer.

I think it depends on how your league scores passing TDs, and how many starting positions you have for each position.

This trade would land you Houshmandzadeh, Fitzgerald, AND Evans. That is like the greatest receiving corp in fantasy history. Jackson is a significant upgrade, and you get to avoid the injury headaches of Westbrook. Vince Young is a startable QB, and is probably in the top 10 if your league devalues passing TDs. This guy must REALLY want Peyton, because I wouldn't offer a trade like this. Making this trade does make you better.

If your league starts 3 WR and no flex, I would probably make the trade. But I'd look for a smaller trade using your lower-level dept to upgrade at your 2nd RB position. With Manning/Westbrook/Fitz/Housh, you have a very strong core that doesn't require a 4-4 trade to drastically alter your roster. Look for a smaller move for a RB upgrade using your receiving depth.
