Who do I drop for a bye week D?

Post by JCShutout »

This is not for the GRB league, so don't worry guys and gals about helping out an opponent. ;)

Oakland is out there, and should have a decent enough game I think (8-10 points), but who should I drop?

We start 1 qb, 2rb, 3wr, 1te, 1k, 1d.

Bold means as of now, this person is starting for me.

QB: Donovan McNabb, Jay Cutler
RB: Willis McGahee, Marshawn Lynch, Rudi Johnson, Kenny Watson (Rudi's backup), Brian Leonard, Brandon Jackson
WR: Steve Smith, Roy Williams, Jerricho Cotchery, James Jones
TE: Jason Witten
K: Stephen Goskowski
D: Jacksonville (bye week)

I'd drop Brandon Jackson, but then I'd essentially be a three RB team since Leonard will probably only start for a couple of weeks (trying to trade him to the guy who has SJax), and Watson is Rudi's handcuff. The only other RBs out there are Ron Dayne (starting because of an injury to Ahmad Green) and the other GB runningbacks. I'm afriad he'll get picked up.

I'd drop James Jones, but then I'd only have the bare minimum in WR, and the only other decent option out there is Greg Jennings. (I would drop Oakland as soon as the week was over to grab Jennings or Jones, in that order).

Jacksonville is a solid enough D (they allow little yards or points against most teams) that I can start them with confidence every week. Don't want to lose that and have to play the waiver wire every week.

Who gets dropped for Oakland?

Drop Jones on Friday, and then when he clears waivers on Sunday, drop Oakland right after it starts for your team for one of the receivers.

Is anyone really going to pick up Rudi Johnson's handcuff in one day? I'd drop Watson and pick him back up.

I actually didn't even have him until this past week, because Rudi left the game with an injury. Rudi is actually questionable this week as well.

Yeah, you don't want to drop your handcuff. Without Brian Leonard, I'd be up **** creek without a paddle.

I don't think Jones is that amazing that either a) you can find someone of comparable talent (see: Jennings, Greg), or b) he won't even be picked up.

Rudi is now doubtful for this week. Watson stays.

Yeah, I know Jones is weak. I originally had Greg Jennings as my #5, and then dropped him when he was injured for Jones.

My original #3 was Reggie Brown, who Donovan McNabb has now decided is not the #1wr in Phi.

I got Cotchery in a trade to be my #4.

Johnson is only going to be out this week, and they are on the bye next week. So, if you're not starting him this week, why keep him on your roster?
