Taking care of business will certainly be a tall order the next three weeks, but if Mizzou can do it... wow.
Did any of you ever dream they would be anywhere close to the national title game?

Nope. I told a friend last year after the World Series that Missouri winning a national championship in basketball would be the final crown jewel in my life as a sports fan. He asked me if I had given up hope on Missouri ever winning in football, to which I stated that I never had any hope. Never did I think Missouri would be able to hang with any other team in the nation.ThatGuy wrote:Taking care of business will certainly be a tall order the next three weeks, but if Mizzou can do it... wow.

Remember, I'm the same one that thought they would lose by three touchdowns against OU and 13 against Nebraska. LOL

I got to watch the Missouri team that went to the Elite 8 (right?) a few years ago. I'm pretty sure they played Miami and Ohio State the first two rounds, and Paulding had one of the coolest/sickest/sweetest dunks ever. This was in Albuquerque at The Pit.GatewaySnayke wrote:Nope. I remember your predictions well. Normally, you would've been right. He asked me if I had given up hope on Missouri ever winning in football, to which I stated that I never had any hope. Never did I think Missouri would be able to hang with any other team in the nation.

If they go to the title game, I'm going to beg my aunt to get me tickets. Maybe I'll be able to hang out with the Golden Girls...

I believe Mike Stoops learned game management from Mike Martz.

Oregon lost. Are we STILL sure that Mizzou isn't playing for the National Championship if they win their next two? I'm more and more optimistic by the day.
EDIT: Reading the conversation on the ESPN boards.. it really looks like everyone agrees. The winner of Kansas/Missouri goes to the National Title

The winner of the Big 12 will go to the Championship game, provided none of KU, Mizzou, or OU lose until they start playing each other.
I cannot bend my mind around the fact that Mizzou controls it's destiny to the Championship game this late in the year.

Because you don't think they can beat Kansas and Oklahoma, or because you think they won't have a legitimate case if they win the Big 12? If it's the former, I can respect your opinion, but if it's the latter...JGant82 wrote:Missouri isn't going to play for the National Championship game..

Well, the winner of the Missouri/Kansas game still has to play Oklahoma for the Big 12 championship.PujolJunkie wrote:EDIT: Reading the conversation on the ESPN boards.. it really looks like everyone agrees. The winner of Kansas/Missouri goes to the National Title
