Re: 2008 Payroll Thread
I think I read that only high priced contracts are insured.

Yes, that's correct. For instance, I did read that the Cardinals had insurance on Carpenter, Pujols, and Rolen. But obviously if they play at all it won't matter. So we probably wouldn't get anything for Carpenter.

Updated again...

Someone check me. We did DFA Maroth, correct? Anything else I'm missing? I also cut Taguchi, since we declined his option. We still have control over him, but I'm not going to pencil him in anymore.
I'm not counting the AAAA players we got today. They're probably minor league contracts, so they're pretty much irrelevant to this.

Do we really think that Miles' services will be retained?
Izturis needs to be added for $2.85M. His first incentive kicks in at 400PA. Hopefully it won't reach that.

I'll update it tomorrow if I have time. Should end up dropping again, and quite a bit.

Re: 2008 Payroll Thread
I've been updating my version (which is a little different than Fat's) on page 4, but I'll post it again here.

EDIT: Thanks, Swirls. I kicked off J-Rod and a couple of DFA'd arms as well.

We can take Edmonds off of there now.
