Jaime Garcia, Memphis
2-0, 1.98 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 13.2 IP, 11 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 15 SO
It's good news to the Cardinals that Jaime Garcia is starting to look at home in Memphis, where he was promoted after striking out 41 batters in 35 innings with the Springfield Cardinals. Garcia's Triple-A initiation started well, but he entered last week owning a two-game losing streak, his first stretch of losses since July. The left-hander put an end to that on June 3, when he struck out nine Albuquerque Isotopes in a seven-inning victory. On June 8, Garcia allowed a solo home run to Round Rock catcher J.R. Towles, but that lone run over 6 2/3 innings was enough to earn him the victory. Even after the home run, right-handed hitters in Triple-A are batting just .218 against Garcia. Left-handed hitters are hitting .356.

Jon Jay, Springfield
.500 (12-24), 5 R, 1 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 2 BB, 2 SO, 0 2B, .875 SLG
June could not come quick enough for Jon Jay, who followed a great April with a May in which he hit just .241. With the changing of the calendar, it seems like we get another new Jay, as the Cardinals center fielder got a hit in all six games last week. However, the strength of his week was the weekend, as Jay had three hits in all three games. On Friday, the outfielder had a pair of singles and a triple in Springfield's 9-4 win over Tulsa. After three more hits on Saturday, Jay finished his great week with three more hits, including a ninth-inning home run to force extra innings. The Cardinals would beat Arkansas, 9-7, in the 10th inning following Jay's heroics.
Congrats fellas keep it up!Midwest League
Nicholas Additon, Quad Cities
1-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 1 GS, 0 CG, 9.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 13 SO
To lead off the final inning of Additon's four-inning start on Friday, Wisconsin shortstop Juan Diaz singled to left field. It was the Timber Rattlers' first hit of the game, and the lone safety Additon would allow. It was also the first hit Additon had given up in nearly two weeks, a streak that began March 24 and spanned 13 1/3 innings. While that streak finally came to a close, Additon still has a scoreless streak alive and well -- 26 innings without a run across six consecutive starts. During that time, the left-hander has allowed just eight hits and seven walks while striking out 24 batters.
