PujolJunkie wrote:Dan and Al now discussing how Mather should have lowered his shoulder on Soto.

Lee flies out to Ludwick. 1 out.
Ramirez pops out to Pujols. 2 outs.
Fukudome grounds out to short. Inning over.

Next:

6. Molina(0-2, K)
7. Izturis(1-2, 2B)
8. Looper(0-2, 2 K)
If that trio does not strike fear into the heart of the Cubs, well I don't know what will.

I don't like Jimmy Ball game any more....

ever wonder why it's ok to lower a shoulder on a catcher but if you do it to, say, a 2b, all hell breaks loose?

And just like that, our patience at the plate is gone again.

Look at the replay and tell me he didn't get his hand in there before the tag..

I don't really have a beef with it because the ball beat him...but he sure looked safe to me
Did he slide headfirst into home?
No he did that little hook slide thingy with his hand trying to get in around Soto..

If you look at it it was extremely close..

Like I said, no beef whatsoever cause the ball beat him and we'll get calls like that too...but he could have easily been called safe looking at the replay

Molina bloops one to center, Edmonds makes a diving catch. 1 out.

Izturis lines a base hit to right field.

It's not even fun paying attention to the game when you know this is going to happen. It's like re-reading Where the Red Fern Grows. It's a certainty the mountain liion is going to be there, but you just hope it turns out different.

other than a terrible execution of a squeeze, Izturis has had a decent game
