I'm not saying this is the end of the season (yet), but if it is, this team has overachieved all year and have made this summer more enjoyable than I thought it would be.

Without a sweep of this series, I'd say the season is pretty much over, yeah.

Come on. The Mets had a seven-game lead with seventeen to go last year. Coming back from four (and a half) games in 29 games is not likely, but it's far from being over.

The difference is that the Phillies beat the Mets head-to-head 7 straight times last year. Something the Cards haven't been able to figure out against the Brewers at all this year. It's just about over.

They can compete with the Brewers. But you don't win cames taking crummy atbats with men on base or having a manager leave a pitcher in too long

They are losing games because they aren't as good of a team. Blame it on bad ABs if you want, but there is a reason that the Brewers have kicked the Cards ass all year.

You're probably right, lipp. I'm sure they're trying like hell to win these 2 games, but the Crew is just shutting them down so far.

the team is flat, period. on top of that, the Brewers scored a couple cheap runs early, putting the pressure on. Very similar to the end of 2006 when we'd get down early, it was uphill forever.
