What I worry about is literally stealing the election by interfering with the election process. That I do not underestimate at all.Radbird wrote:Never underestimate the power of last minute throw-everything-against-the-wall-to-see-if-anything-sticks negative messages.wart57 wrote:I guess we will soon see, because it sure looks like Obama will be the next POTUS.

For that matter, why are elections run by partisan officials appointed by the governors in exchange for political service to them?ghostrunner wrote:Also don't understand why political parties have a say in where voting centers are located. Put them next to gun shops and auto factories for all I care. The more that can be run successfully, the better.

Precisely. All Obama needs is Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida or Virginia to go by more than 3 points.pop_haines wrote:Not close enough to steal.jim wrote:What I worry about is literally stealing the election by interfering with the election process. How's the old Edwin Edwards' saying go? The only way Obama loses this is if he's caught with a dead girl or a live boy.pop_haines wrote:Not close enough to steal.jim wrote:What I worry about is literally stealing the election by interfering with the election process. Yes, and Jesus lost his election too, to Barabbas.PujolJunkie wrote:More incessant praise for the Messiah. Sigh.
Columbus — Georgia Republican Party chairwoman Sue Everhart said Saturday that the party's presumed presidential nominee has a lot in common with Jesus Christ.
"John McCain is kind of like Jesus Christ on the cross," Everhart said. "He never denounced God, either."
Everhart was praising McCain for never denouncing the United States while he was being tortured as a prisoner of war in Vietnam.
"I'm not trying to compare John McCain to Jesus Christ, I'm looking at the pain that was there," she said.

But your quote from the story was about McCain not Obama who's already been dubbed the Messiah. Try again.PujolJunkie wrote:More incessant praise for the Messiah. Sigh.

To be fair, nobody from the higher-ups of the Democratic Party have dubbed nor compared Obama to Christ. And well, a higher up from the GOP has compared McCain to Christ. The people "dubbing" Obama as the Messiah are actually from the GOP, much like yourself.BW23 wrote:But your quote from the story was about McCain not Obama who's already been dubbed the Messiah. Only when one of the candidates actually concedes do I consider it a lock and it can't be stolen (or when the Supreme Court votes on it)PujolJunkie wrote:Precisely. Louis Farrakhan did, which is comforting. And there's this gem:InvincibleCakeEater wrote:To be fair, nobody from the higher-ups of the Democratic Party have dubbed nor compared Obama to Christ. Not only is Obama now Jesus, Palin is a Jesus-killer. Yay!From Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) on the House floor:
Mr. COHEN. Mr. Speaker, it’s a bit confusing sometimes to listen to the rhetoric. The Republicans have had the Presidency now for nearly 8 years, and they have had the majority in this House since 1994, I think. I submit to you, Mr. Speaker, that the parties have differences, but if you want change, you want the Democratic Party. BARACK OBAMA was a community organizer like Jesus, whom our minister prayed about. Pontius Pilate was a Governor.
