Just venting here. I doubt my dad would really sympathize with me. He would much rather that I am the one inconvenienced than any chance at offending some quasi-relative. He's a dick that way.docellis wrote:Does your dad have any idea how awful these people are? Or are you keeping it to yourself and venting here?cardsfansince82 wrote:It gets better. She just got back from the casino where she put one single dollar into a slot machine and won $500. I didn't even know that was possible. If she gives me another grocery list and no money I am going to snap.
Anyway, they finally left this afternoon. I gave them the mouthwash as a parting gift.

Did you buy her and the kids a premade sandwich to take for their drive too?

They just took all the little trailmix/kid's snacks/fresh fruit that I bought with them. That should tide them over until their next parasitic relationship.cardinalkarp wrote:Did you buy her and the kids a premade sandwich to take for their drive too?

Re: House guests
Sorry, just back from "vacation" in Germany, so I'm late to this party.......anyway, I feel your pain. When friends/family visit from Germany, they always stay for 2-3 weeks at a time and expect us to keep the fridge and pantry stocked. Stocked with stuff for their kids, stuff that we never eat, etc. Our grocery bills are ginormous during these visits.....and our house turns into their house during this time period. Given that I work from home, it's quite stressful for me. I told my hubby that we need to limit these visits.....or I will pack up and leave during said visits. Really, a week is long enough....then move on people!!!! When we visit family in Germany, we either get a hotel room or stay with a relative but supply all of our own food and transportation and, most importantly, we never stay more than a week.
I hope you had a wild celebration upon their departure.....and peed in the mouthwash bottle!

If that mechanical bull at the Mormon church is still up and running, maybe you could send them over there for entertainment.
