Out on a limb with Chris Duncan

Post by skmsw »

The Cards have 48 games remaining, and no obvious alternatives to Duncan for #2 hitter or starting LF.

So let's assume he finds himself getting 70% of the available playing time the rest of the way. That's roughly another 110 at-bats this year.

I'll go on the record as follows:

For games beginning with tonight's (8/11/06) and running through the last game of the regular season, if Duncan gets at least 75 more AB he will slug .440 or lower.

Who wants a piece of me???

EDIT: correct typo in start date, so start date matches date of post

I'll take the bet (in fact, I think this poll was made for me anyway :) ).

I'll take the bet just to be both contrary and overly optimistic.

Already upping your projection from .425 to .440??? I better get in now before it goes up to .450.

I'll take the bet.

J-Rod has a SLG of .449 this year and he only has 2 HRs.

I would love to see what Duncan's Slug % was before Cincy series? Anyone has it?

Can the two opposing sides please form street gangs?

Then we will strap Steve and RC together at one hand and have them engage in a knife fight. At which point Micheal Jackson will appear and peace and harmony will be found through the art of breakdancing.

After all, wasn't that what they were fighting about in the Beat It video? Chris Duncan's slugging percentage?

BEAT IT!
