Update: HOLLIDAY A CARD 7yr/120 million, p178

[clevername]

crap. Going to have to spend the afternoon checking my dang iPhone every 5 minutes for this news now since I'm going to be out. Any other reports that it's a done deal?

[stlouie_lipp]

peeps be buzzin?

[heyzeus]

I can only report what I know: I just had a great breakfast taco.

Just tuned in online and Cusumano isn't announcing anything. Just speculating.

I still think it's in Holliday's best interest to wait. The Cards aren't going anywhere.

I wonder if Boras will go to the Yanks and take a much shorter but profitable contract. Like something crazy like what Manny ended up getting from LA, like 2 years 45M and just take his chances at free agency at another time. I know that goes against Holliday's feeling that he wants a permanent home but its a ton of money (which the Yanks have plenty of) and is not long term (something the Yanks are dragging their feet about doing).

Let us know what back-end deal emerges this evening.

I'm almost positive that the taco will exercise its 6th hour opt-out clause.
